Broncos Sweep Sacramento State, Pacific to Open Weekend

Boise State runs win streak to 15-consecutive games
STOCKTON, Calif. — The Boise State softball team swept Sacramento State and Pacific on Friday to open the Louisville Slugger Tournament. The wins push the team's win streak to 15-consecutive games.
Boise State (16-2) opened the weekend with a 5-2 victory over Sacramento State (8-8) in the afternoon.
After trailing 2-1 to the Hornets, Boise State took control of the game in the bottom of the third inning. Ashlyn Adams hit a go-head triple into right field to bat in Alison Seng and Kora Wade.
From there, the Broncos wouldn't look back. They would score twice in the sixth inning for the 5-2 victory over the Hornets.
Gianna Mancha was again dazzling in the circle, winning her seventh-consecutive decision. The sophomore went the distance, striking out four batters.
Boise State took control of the game against Pacific (4-10) early, and held on for the 9-4 victory.
In the top of the first, Boise State scores a pair of runs to take the lead, and would never let up. The Tigers would not score until the bottom of the third, but by then the Broncos has already separated themselves.
Rebekah Cervantes batted in four runs while going 2-for-5 at the plate. The senior doubled twice on the day.
The Broncos were phenomenal on the base path, recording nine stolen bases. Eight different players stole a base, led by Kora Wade with two.
Boise State will conclude the weekend tomorrow against Fairleigh Dickinson (11 a.m. MT) and Sacramento State (1:15 p.m. MT).
