Stamper Paces Broncos for First Win

NAMPA, Idaho – In the first meet of the 2020 campaign, the Boise State track and field team had an impressive showing at the Bronco Invite, Saturday.
Freshman Caleb Stamper led the Broncos to a one-through-four finish in the men's 600-meter run. Stamper finished three seconds ahead of second place for his first-career collegiate win. Following him were, Cade Greseth (1:21.96), Jacob Grinwis (1:22.35) and Henry Mong (1:22.67).
Senior Kendra Noneman logged her second-straight top-five finish with a second-place effort in the weight throw, with a distance of 18.06m.
Caleb Hardy took home second in the men's 400m with a time of 47.88. On his heels was Ryan Cavinta finishing third with a time of 49.67.
In the final event of the day, the men's "b" team consisting of Mong, Grinwis, Greseth, and Stamper in the 4x400m relay took home the win compiling a time of 3:25.33.
The Blue and Orange return to Jackson's Indoor Track next week for the Ed Jacoby Invitational, Jan. 24-25. It will be the Broncos first two-day meet of the year.
