TEMPE, Ariz. - Boise State struggled to get anything going in an 8-0 loss Sunday afternoon at No. 23/22 Arizona State. Neither team hit the ball well combining for six hits, but the Sun Devils managed to take advantage of their opportunities and Bronco miscues to score.
Boise State was led by Ashlyn Adams and Karlee Johnson who each recorded a hit in the game, but that was all the offense the Broncos could produce.Â
The Broncos pitchers, Kelsey Broadus and Micaela Leal, kept the Sun Devil batters at bay allowing only four hits. However, the two Broncos were challenged by the ASU batters who forced eight walks while only striking out twice.Â
Arizona State took control of the game in the bottom of the first when Alynah Torres hit a three RBI home run to hand the Sun Devils an early lead. Three of the final four runs scored in the later innings came off Boise State errors.Â
The loss moved Boise State to 6-4 overall with a five-game road trip on slate this coming weekend at the Silicon Valley Classic in Santa Clara, Calif.
