ABOUT THE COWBOYS: Wyoming is 6-17, with a 1-10 record in Mountain West play. The Cowboys picked up their first conference win of the year Saturday, at San José State. Five Cowboys scored in double figures to lift the team to victory. Hunter Maldonado is the only player averaging in double figures for Wyoming, scoring 16.8 points per game. Jake Hendricks is averaging 9.9 points per game, while 82 percent of his field goals this season have come from beyond the three-point line.
SERIES HISTORY: Boise State leads the all-time series 16-14. The Broncos have won each of the last four meetings, including a 65-54 win Jan. 1, in Boise. The Broncos have won five of their last seven trips to Laramie, posting a 69-55 road victory last season.
STREAKING AGAIN: Boise State is riding its second four-game win streak of the season. Its four most recent wins have all come in Mountain West play. The last time the Broncos won five consecutive Mountain West games was during the 2014-15 season, the year Boise State won the regular-season league title. That year, the Broncos posted conference win streaks of eight and six, winning 14 of their final 15 league games to claim the title.
STEADY CLIMB: Boise State enters the week in a tie for second place in the Mountain West standings with Colorado State at 7-4. Less than three weeks ago, the Broncos were in eighth place. A historic come-from-behind win against Utah State kick started Boise State's current four-game win streak and began a steady rise up the ranks of the Mountain West.
GETTING TO THE LINE: Boise State is averaging 22.5 free throw attempts per game, while surrendering just 15.6 free throw attempts per game to its opponents. The Broncos, shooting 74.7 percent from the line, are scoring 16.8 points per game at the charity stripe. They have outscored and outshot their opponents at the free throw line in 19 of 23 games this season. The Broncos rank No. 11 nationally in free throws made (387) and 20th nationally in attempted (518).
