Relay Teams Dominate on Day One

NAMPA, Idaho – Boise State track and field opened day one of the Jackson's Nike Boise Indoor Invite with a pair of victories in the men's and women's 4x800-meter relays. Bronco teams also finished second in both events.

Abi Dargan, competing in the women's long jump, recorded a personal best of 18-feet, 7-inches (5.66m). It is the second time this season she has set a personal best.

Running in the men's 60m dash, sophomore David Pierce and redshirt sophomore Jose Rubio both qualified for Saturday's final, finishing sixth and seventh, respectively. Â

Sophomore Dafni Georgiou earned the top-qualifying spot in the women's 60m hurdles finishing with a time of 8.61. The final will be run Saturday at 11:05 a.m. MT.

In the men's 200m dash, Pierce led the way taking the top-qualifying spot with a time of 21.96. The final will run Saturday at 3:35 p.m. MT. Also running in the 200m, Brayden Durfee set a personal best time of 22.42.

In the final event of the day, senior Kendra Noneman put on a performance in the women's weight throw. Her final four throws all topped her personal best coming into the meet. Nonemans' second effort at 63-1.50 (19.24m) was her best of the night and good enough for the win. It is her second win of the season. It also moved her into fifth for the longest throw in program history.

Day two of action resumes at 9 a.m. MT, Saturday beginning with the girls' shot put. College events will begin at 10:45 a.m. MT with the final of the women's 60m dash.
