Georgiou, Pierce Lead Broncos on Day Two

NAMPA, Idaho – Boise State track and field continued its strong showing on day two of the Jackson's/Nike Boise Indoor Invite, Saturday.

Sophomore Dafni Georgiou got things going with a win in the final of the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.64.

In the women's mile, Malia Pivec earned a second-place finish with a time of 5:03.61, closing 12 seconds ahead of third place.

Running in the final of the men's 200m, David Pierce won easily with a time of 21.79.

MaLeigha Menegatti paced the Broncos in the women's 400m dash running a personal best 57.09. Kelly Moodry and Rebecca Troescher followed right behind her in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Running in the women's 4x400m, the Boise State relay team finished second closing with a time of 3:52.73.Â

Next up the Broncos will have their second-split weekend of the season. A contingent will head to Seattle for the Husky Classic, while the rest of the team will remain home for the Bronco Challenge. Both meets will be held Feb. 14-15.
