Johnstone Leads Broncos into Top Five

BANDON, Ore. – Connor Johnstone fired a 4-under 67, Monday to lead Boise State into fifth place after two rounds of the Bandon Dunes Championship.
Johnstone made four birdies in his final-six holes and seven for the day. He enters Tuesday's final round at 2-under and in a tie for seventh.
"It was a great round for Connor (Johnstone) today," Boise State head coach Dan Potter said. "His finish was huge and kept us right in the mix. If we can go out and have our best round of the event, then anything can happen. That's the goal."
Boise State was 2-under, 282 as a team and moved up two spots to fifth place at 3-over, 571 with 18 holes to play. The Broncos trail No. 34 Kansas by one shot and No. 12 Washington by four strokes. Oregon State leads the tournament at 10-under followed by Oregon at 4-under.
Brian Humphreys carded a 1-over 72 for the second-straight day. He overcame a double bogey on his first hole to play 1-under the rest of the way. He is tied for 30th.
Skyler Eubank made four birdies in the round, including three in a row during one stretch, and finished 1-under 70. He is tied for 34th.
Hugo Townsend recorded an eagle during his round and finished 2-over for the second-consecutive day. He is tied for 41st.
Cameron Barzekoff struggled Monday and shot a 10-over 81. He is tied for 74th at 10-over.
Tuesday's final round will have live video coverage on Golfstat.com beginning at 9:30 a.m. Mountain.
