WHAT'S NEXT: Boise State (7-4-1/1-2-1 MW) returns home to Boise for matches against San Jose State (5-7-0/2-2-0 MW) and Fresno State (5-3-3/3-0-1 MW) this Friday and Sunday at Boas Soccer Complex. The matches are the first at home for the Broncos since Sept. 17.

LAST TIME OUT: Boise State traveled to face San Diego State and New Mexico, the two teams ranked above it in the Mountain West Preseason Coaches poll. In Friday's match the Broncos conceded twice in the first half en route to a 2-0 defeat to the Aztecs. Sunday's matchup in Albuquerque was a tightly contested affair with the Lobos coming out on top in the end 1-0 after a goal in the 63rd minute. The losses dropped them to 1-2-1 in MW play to start the conference slate and sits them tied for seventh in the table entering the weekend.

BACK HOME: The upcoming matches are the first at home for the Broncos since their Sept. 17 matchup against CSU Bakersfield. Boise State is the only team in the MW which has won all of its home matches this season, sporting a record of 4-0-0 when playing in front of Bronco Nation.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: Despite averaging 1.42 goals per game this season the Boise State offense has been scoreless in its last three matches. The Blue and Orange has averaged 15 shots per game over the scoreless span, but have been unable to break through. The Broncos will try to end their scoring woes against San Jose State and Fresno State defenses that give up an average of 1.75 and 1.00 goals per match, respectively.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS: San Jose State enters Friday's match ahead of Boise State in the Mountain West standings, holding six points to the Broncos' four. The Spartans are 2-2 in MW play with wins against Colorado College and Wyoming, and losses to Air Force and Colorado State.

San Jose State is led offensively by newcomer Taylor Phillips who paces the team in goals (3) and assists (2). The other nine goals have each been scored by different players.

The Spartans feature a freshmen tandem at goalkeeper with Autum Monty and Shayla Sugai splitting time in the net. The two have had similar production this season with Monty holding a goals against averages of 1.71, and Sugai a 1.72 mark.

San Jose State has struggled on the road so far this season, going 1-4 overall and 0-1 in MW play. Boise State leads the all-time series between the two programs 10-8-5, and is 6-1-3 against the Spartans when playing in Boise.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS: Fresno State has raced out to a 3-0-1 start in Mountain West play, taking down Air Force, Colorado State and Wyoming after drawing with Colorado College to begin the conference slate.

Sophomore forward Kassandra Ceja leads the way offensively for the Bulldogs having already tallied six goals and four assists in their 11 matches this season. Ceja's best performance this season saw her notch a hat trick in a 5-0 win against UC Santa Barbara.

At goalkeeper the Bulldogs rely primarily on freshman Ella Wilson who has appeared in all 11 matches this season and holds a goals against average of 0.81. Two other goalkeepers have also appeared for Fresno State, including Valentina Vivas who has started in eight matches.

Fresno State holds a slim lead in the all-time series against Boise State, 11-10-2. Last season the teams split in their two meetings, with the Broncos winning 3-0 in Boise and the Bulldogs winning 1-0 in Fresno later in the season.

TICKETS: Boise State is offering the Bronco Sports Pass this year for $75, which will grant admission to all home regular season events during the 2021-22 season for: women's basketball, gymnastics, soccer, softball, volleyball and track & field. Note: The Bronco Sports Pass does not include any conference tournaments or postseason national tournaments hosted by Boise State.

In addition, Boise State is selling match tickets online in advance for all soccer home contests in 2021.

Prices for admission to individual matches during the season remain the same for 2021: $6 for adults, $4 for juniors (high school age and younger) and seniors 62 or older. Boise State students with valid ID card and children two and under get in for free.
