Broncos win the night cap to notch first win of season.
"It's good to get our first win under our belts and let some young players get involved in the ball game tonight," said head coach Maggie Huffaker. "Our pitching staff has done a very nice job, and are showing a lot of good signs for the season. I'm also very pleased with India Kelly in the lead off spot. She's given us a lot of opportunities to score getting on base so much. We just need to continue to fight for the timely hits to get our offense going."
The first outing was back and forth before GSU pulled it out with a run in the bottom of the seventh. Boise State recovered taking control of the second meeting with a combined six runs in the fourth and fifth innings as they cruised to the victory.
Kiele Miller earned her first career victory from the pitching mound finishing the second game with seven strikeouts while allowing only one hit in 4.1 innings pitched.
Offensively, Kelsey Lalor and Ashlyn Adams led the Broncos with four hits each on the day, Lalor hit homers in each game to finish with three RBI. Hailey Hayes also tallied a home run during the first contest.
