BOISE, Idaho - Boise State swept a doubleheader on Friday taking a 7-0 win over George Fox, then defeated instate-rival Idaho State 5-2 in the night cap. Blake Bayldon, Luka Soskic and Lawrence Sciglitano led the Broncos as they all went 4-0 on the day, none of them even lost a set. The win improved Boise State to 4-1 overall with a match on the slate scheduled on Sunday versus Gonzaga in Boise.

"I think it's always tough when you have a doubleheader, you're asking a lot from the guys to be here," said assistant coach Ali Borhani. "You're here around nine in the morning and it's 7:30 at night when we're finishing up, but I thought we competed well. We did a good job rotating the lineup, so everyone got a chance to play. We're very happy with Blake, he had to play with a different doubles partner today and played in some positions  he normally does not play at No. 1 and 2 singles. He did a great job and we're very proud of Blake's performance."

BOISE STATE SWEEPS GEORGE FOX

The Broncos got off to a good start in Friday's doubleheader by sweeping George Fox 7-0. Boise State's doubles attack brought the energy early and grabbed the team the early 1-0 lead after winning on all three courts.

Michael Bott was the first Bronco to clinch a singles win on the day, as he did so in dominant fashion on court six with a 6-0, 6-1 win over the Bruins' Hunter Fujimori. Soon after Lawrence Sciglitano followed up with a 6-2, 6-1 victory of his own on court four, and just like that the Broncos were one win away from clinching the win.

It was redshirt-senior Wyatt Demulling who put the match away for the Broncos. He handled George Fox's Camden Camacho 6-2, 6-1 on court three to clinch the win for his team. Lukas Ridemar and Blake Bayldon followed closely behind with wins on courts five and one, respectively. Luka Soskic completed the sweep with his 6-4, 6-2 win at the No. 2 position over the Bruins' Luke Lemaitre.

The sweep was the Broncos' second of the season, as they took down Grand Canyon 7-0 earlier in January.

BOISE STATE VS IDAHO STATE

Boise State defeated instate-rival Idaho State 5-2 in the second match of the day. It began by taking the doubles point 2-1 over the Idaho State Bengals.

Bayldon and Sciglitano struck first winning at No. 2 doubles in commanding fashion 6-1 over Idaho State's Kiroki Fujita and Robert Steinhauser. Then after ISU claimed victory on court one to tie the score, it came down to No. 3 doubles to decide the point. Soskic and Ridemar came through handing the team doubles point to the Broncos with a 6-2 win at the threes.

Bayldon recorded the first singles victory of the night for Boise State on court two where he defeated Aleksander Petrovic in straight-sets 6-3, 6-2 to make the team score 2-1.

Sciglitano moved the Broncos to within one point of victory up 3-2 when he won No. 6 singles 6-2, 6-4 over Wikus Robbertse. Up one, Soskic clinched the team victory for the Broncos on court three with a 6-4, 6-3 straight-set victory versus Hiroki Fujita to make the team score 4-2.

"I thought we played well as a team today, the first match was a little bit easier than the second one," said Soskic. "We knew Idaho State would be tough coming in, they had played a good Utah team tough a couple weeks ago. We played hard and things went our way today. Personally, I felt that I played really well considering I was out for a while (missed last season). I played a solid guy tonight and got the win, overall it was a good day."

DeMulling completed the victory winning the No. 4 singles in a 10-point set three tiebreaker to record the final win of the night 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (3).
