BOISE, Idaho - Blake Bayldon's straight-set victory at No. 1 singles clinched the team victory on Sunday as Boise State defeated the Montana State Bobcats 6-1 to extend its win streak to 10 straight. It was another dominating performance for the Broncos who swept all three doubles matches 6-2, then claimed five of the six singles contests on their way to victory.

"I thought we did a good job today especially since we pulled a couple of guys that were a little bit banged up,  two of our top three players," said head coach Kristian Widen. "As a result, our guys at the lower positions in the lineup got a chance to move up and show us what they've got. They did a great job showing up, which has been the case all year, whoever I call upon, they come out and they're ready to go which has been a strength of ours."

The win improved the Blue and Orange to 12-1 overall, the second-best start to a season since 1987 behind the 1996-97 squad that won their first 13 matches. The school's record for most consecutive wins is 14 set in 2006-07.

Boise State swept the doubles point by winning all three contests by 6-2 scores. Simon Arca Costas and Bayldon were the first to finish and improved to 6-1 on the year at No. 1 doubles. The No. 2 doubles team of  Lukas Ridemar and Luka Soskic were the next to win as they remained undefeated on the year at 5-0. Wrapping up the doubles contests were Lawrence Sciglitano and Michael Bott who won on court three.

Boise State won four of its five singles victories in straight sets against the Bobcats. The first Bronco off the court was Ridemar at No. 6 singles where he downed Jacob Huppin 6-2, 6-2 to improve to 6-2 overall on the year.

Arca Costas finished just after Bott winning his No. 2 singles match also by 6-2, 6-2 scores. The native of Vigo, Spain, won his ninth-straight singles match of the season to remain undefeated, as well as moved the Broncos to within one point of the team victory.

The clincher came on court one where Bayldon defeated Joaquin Espinoza in two sets 6-4, 6-1. The win improved Bayldon to 7-2 overall and 4-1 at No. 1 singles.

"I think Blake went 4-0 this weekend and didn't drop a set at number one singles or number one doubles either day," said Widen. "It's never easy to play number one every single match, every team has a good number one so you have to be at your best all the time."

After Montana State cut the deficit to 4-1, Sciglitano made it 5-1 Boise State when he rallied from a set down to defeat Jakob Mosvold 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. The native of Melbourne, Australia, improved to 8-1 overall in singles.

The final Boise State win came on court four where Wyatt DeMulling won 7-6(4), 7-5 to improve to 8-1 on the year.

"I think we did great. We won 6-1 and extended our win streak to 10 straight," said DeMulling.  "It's been a really long time since we had a win streak like this, it's big for us. I'm proud of the team, they fought well today. You know, it was actually Lawrence (Sciglitano) today that was fighting hard today and I was playing next to him. He made me fight and dig really deep for a lot of things. I won ugly today, but I'm proud of myself for the way I competed. That's really what it comes down to all the time, is how you compete and I know that's what the coaches tell us all the time. Overall, I'm really proud of the team and the effort that they put into today."
