Broncos Earn Fourth-Straight Shutout Against Aggies

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State soccer continued its undefeated run to start the season with a 1-0 win over UC Davis Thursday evening at Boas Soccer Complex.
The lone goal of the match came off the foot of Keile Hansen in the 51st minute when she broke away from the Aggies' backline and sent a ball across the keeper to the far side of the net. The goal was the second of the year for Hansen who now leads her team in that category.
Boise State is 4-0 for only the second time in program history. The only other time the Broncos started a season with four-straight victories was in 2019, a year in which they made they won the Mountain West Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
Defense continues to be the star of the show for the Blue and Orange as this marks the first time in program history a team has started the season with four-straight shutouts. The shutout streak is also the longest in program history, lasting an incredible 501:51 minutes going back to last season. Boise State now stands as one of only 11 teams in the country who have not conceded a goal thus far this season.
Goalkeeper Sydney Smith continued her rise through the Boise State record book as she collected career save No. 22 tonight, tying Maddy McDevitt for fourth all time in program history.
Up next for Boise State is a quick trip to Portland, Ore., for a matchup with Portland State Sunday, Sept. 5 at 2 p.m.
