PROVO, Utah - Boise State's run at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Mountain Region Championships in Provo, Utah, came to an end on Thursday. The competition began on Tuesday and runs through Saturday with singles and doubles titles on the line.

The Broncos were led in singles by Kyryll Kryvchun, Luka Soskic and Jan Lucca Marquardt who all went 1-1 at the regional. All three won their opening match before falling in the second, resulting in their elimination from the regional.

Kryvchun — the No. 9 seed — opened with a round of 64 victory over Utah State's Roko Savin in a tough match that saw two tiebreakers before the Bronco came out the winner 7-6 (5), 7-6(5). The senior then followed with a round of 32 loss, 6-3, 6-1, at the hands of Rafael Abdulsalam from New Mexico.

Luka Soskic — seeded 21st overall — opened in the round of 64 as well where he easily dispatched New Mexico State's Gijs Akkermans in straight sets 6-1, 6-0 to advance. In the next round, Soskic was forced to retire due to injury after the first set was finished in a tiebreaker. Eban Straker-Meads claimed the win 7-6(5) following Soskic's retirement.

Marquardt opened his competition in the round of 128 where he won in three sets 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 over Gabriel Chavez from Utah State. In the round of 64, Marquardt ran into Montana State's Matji Panik who defeated the Bronco 6-0, 6-3.

In doubles competition, Boise State was led by the teams of Michael Bott and Kryvchun, as well as Ryo Minakata and Marquardt who both finished with 1-1 marks.

Bott and Kryvchun opened with a tough 8-7(5) loss to Weber State's pair of Sebastian Buxman and Arthur Serafim. The loss knocked the Boise State duo into the consolation bracket where they defeated BYU's tandem of Brigham Andrus and Alex Lin 8-5. The Broncos moved on to the quarterfinals, but were forced to withdraw because of injury.

Minakata and Marquardt opened with an 8-5 victory over UNLV's tandem of Jack Hambrook and Thomas Navarro. They then fell 8-6 in a tightly contested affair in the round of 32 to Utah's Francisco Bastias and Bruno Caula.

Boise State will be back in action next week with the majority of the squad competing at the Idaho State Bengal Invitational in Pocatello, while Simon Arca Costas and Kryvchun travel to the ITA All-American Championships at Tulsa, Okla.
