BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State track and field team is set to split its squad this weekend, competing in two meets, Jan. 28-29. Bronco sprinters will travel to Lubbock, Texas for the Texas Tech Open, while the distance crew returns to Seattle for the Washington Invitational.

LOGISTICS
Texas Tech Open (Sprinters) – The meet is hosted by Texas Tech and will be held at the Sports Performance Center. The facility opened in 2017 and boasts a 200-meter banked track.

Washington Invitational (Distance) – The meet is hosted by Washington and will be held at the Dempsey Indoor Facility, which features a 307-meter MONDO track.

LAST TIME OUT: The Broncos experienced a record-setting weekend in Washington as Bronco jumpers and sprinters competed at the Cougar Classic in Spokane, and the distance squad raced in Seattle at the UW Indoor Preview, Jan. 15.

At the Cougar Classic, junior Dafni Georgiou broke her own school record and set a facility record in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles.

Freshman Anita Taviore also raced to a school record in the 200m dash, while junior MaLeigha Menegatti and freshman Maggie Larson each garnered an individual title for the Broncos.

In Seattle, seniors Dario De Caro and Jonathan Shields highlighted Boise State's performances.

De Caro recorded a sixth-place finish in the mile, running the second-fastest time in program history (4:00.32), and Shield's time of 7:54.23 in the 3,000m was also the second-fastest in school history.
