Broncos Take Victory In Home Finale

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State women's soccer picked up three crucial points in the Mountain West standings by defeating San Diego State 1-0 Sunday afternoon in the team's final home match of the season.
The Aztecs (7-5-6, 5-3-2 MW) pressured the Broncos (8-4-7, 4-2-4 MW) in the initial stages of the match and forced them to defend early. After settling in, Boise State found the opening goal in the 35th minute when Hayden Wilsey collected a blocked shot by Carly Cross and punched it into the back of the net.
The Broncos weathered six shots and two corner kicks without allowing a shot on goal in the second half to hold on for the 1-0 victory, picking up three points over the second-place Aztecs.

The Broncos hit the road for the final match of the regular season against Utah State, Thursday (Oct. 27). Kickoff from Logan, Utah, is set for 4 p.m. MT.

- Hayden Wilsey scored her eighth goal of the season, tying Dayle McNabb (1999) and Ginger Sellick (1999) for the 10th-most goals in a single season in program history.
- The shutout was Genevieve Crenshaw's 15th of her career, good for fourth all-time in program history.
- Boise State has shut out eight of its 10 Mountain-West opponents thus far.
- Boise State led the Aztecs in shots (19), shots on goal (7) and corner kicks (4).
