Men's Tennis 2023 Spring Schedule Released

This spring’s slate features 31 matches, with 16 at home.

BOISE, Idaho – Luke Shields, Boise State Men's Tennis Head Coach, announced Wednesday the 2023 spring team dual schedule featuring 31 matches. The Broncos will be home for 16 contests, while the road schedule has them playing at nine opponents and six at neutral sites.
 
Some notable nonconference opponents highlighting this year's schedule include North Carolina, Tulsa, Washington, and BYU.
 
The season will kick off the weekend of January 13-15 at Chapel Hill, N.C., where the Blue and Orange will face North Carolina, Columbia, and Tulsa. The exact order of matches is still undetermined at this time.
 
January will wrap up with a trip to the Palm Desert Collegiate Invite at Palm Springs, Calif., the 20th-23rd, followed by a pair of home contests in a doubleheader on the 28th against Montana State and Whitman.    
 
February will see Boise State home for four of seven matches. The Broncos will start the month by traveling to Seattle to face the Washington Huskies on Feb. 2. They will then host Idaho and Seattle on Feb. 10 in a doubleheader, followed by a match against Gonzaga on the 12th.
 
The team will wrap up February by traveling to play at UC Santa Barbara (Feb. 17) and Cal Poly (Feb. 19) before returning home to host BYU on the 25th.
 
March opens with six road contests starting with a trip to southern California, where Boise State will play at UC Irvine (March 2), followed by matches versus Denver (March 4) and Loyola Marymount (March 5) at LMU in Los Angeles.
 
Next, the Broncos will compete in a tournament at Arizona State in Tempe (March 10-12), where the blue and orange will play three contests. The field will feature Arizona State, Memphis, Princeton, Texas Tech, and VCU.
 
When Boise State returns home, the Broncos will move outdoors to the Appleton Tennis Center, weather permitting, where they will host a six-match homestand with three doubleheaders.
 
The homestand begins with a doubleheader versus Idaho State and San Francisco on March 16, followed by a pair of matches against George Fox on March 18. The homestand will conclude on March 19, when Boise State will face both Montana and Eastern Washington.
 
March will conclude with the Mountain West opener at UNLV on the 31st.   
 
April features six contests, five versus MW opponents, and one nonconference match. April 2 will have Boise State at San Diego State in conference action. The Broncos return home for three matches starting with the sixth doubleheader of the year versus Air Force and Lewis-Clark State (April 8).
 
They will then host New Mexico (April 14) before traveling to Nevada (April 20). The regular season will close when the blue and orange host Utah State for Senior Day on April 22.
 
This year's MW Championship will be the weekend of April 28-30 in Las Vegas.
