Day One of the General Patton Fall Invite is in the Books

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State men's tennis opened the 2022 fall campaign by hosting the General Patton Fall Invitational at the Appleton Tennis Center.

Day one of the three-day event was good for the Broncos who advanced one doubles team into Saturday's semifinal round and two singles players into the quarterfinals.

Overall, the Blue and Orange went a combined 5-3 in doubles and singles.

BRONCO LEADERS

The doubles team of Jan Lucca Marquardt and Michael Bott swept a pair of contests 8-4 and 8-7(3) to advance to the semifinal against George Russell and Sam Baldwin from Montana.
Simon Arca Costas – the number two seed – won his lone singles match of the day in straight sets 6-3, 6-0 over Javier Ruiz Medina from Utah State in the round of 16 to move into tomorrow's quarterfinal round.
Michael Bott split his two singles matches on the day winning 6-4, 6-3 in the round of 32 before falling in three sets 2-6, 6-3, 6-1.

WHAT'S NEXT

Boise State will host day two of the General Patton Fall Invitational Saturday with the action starting with doubles play at 8:30 a.m. at the Appleton Tennis Center. Fans who want to attend need to park in the Lincoln Parking Garage.
