BOISE, Idaho – Boise State volleyball earned a 25-15, 25-16, 25-18 sweep Thursday night over the Fresno State Bulldogs in a Mountain West match at Bronco Gym. The victory is the sixth in the last seven contests for the Blue and Orange as it improved to 8-7 overall and 4-1 in the MW, tied for first.

The Broncos outhit the Bulldogs .281 to .074. They also had 43 kills and eight service aces, while holding Fresno State to 26 and one, respectively.Â

Boise State wasted little time taking command of the opening set, which it led the entire way. The Broncos ran out to a 12-6 lead and stretched the advantage out to 12 points before settling for an impressive 10-point 25-15 win.

The second frame was as dominating as the first for the Blue and Orange as it rallied from 7-6 down – the only Boise State deficit all night – to take control with an 8-1 run to go up 14-8. The Broncos won it by nine, 25-16, outhitting the Bulldogs .324 to .067.

The third was close early on before Boise State surged with a 7-0 run to extend a 15-14 advantage out to eight points, 22-14. The Broncos eventually claimed the frame by seven, 25-18, to clinch the match 3-0.

"I thought this was a real complete effort on our side offensively and defensively," said head coach Shawn Garus. "Noelani (Helm) did a great job balancing the offense and getting a lot of people involved. Bella McGirr got her first start at libero and did a great job, leading us in digs. - Paige Bartsch led the Broncos in kills with a team-high 12 to go with one ace and three blocks – one solo – to finish with a team-best 15 points.

- Anabel Kotzakov also had nine kills to go with one service ace and two blocks for 11 points.
- Bella McGirr earned her first start at libero tonight, where she tallied a team-high 17 digs, tying her career high.
