ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Boise State softball recorded its second win of a three-game series against New Mexico by posting a 14-1 mercy-rule victory, Friday afternoon.

Boise State increased its lead to 12-0 in the third inning as Huchingson hit a two-run homer and Hall drilled a solo home run over the fence.
Ashlyn Whalen knocked a solo home run out of the park in the fourth and drove in a runner with a single to right center in the fifth.
The Lobos (16-23, 3-8) earned a run in the bottom of the fifth, but Lindsey Walljasper (7-3) and the Broncos ultimately walked away with the win.

Quotables

  • "Another solid day both in the circle and at the plate," said head coach Justin Shults. "[Lindsey Walljasper] was very efficient and I really like the way she was able to keep hitters off balance."
  • "We had the chance to see a lot of different hitters at the plate today and they all contributed nicely," said Shults. "We need to come out with that same energy in the finale tomorrow."
