GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Boise State women's soccer squeaked past North Dakota 3-2 Sunday afternoon to pick up its first win of the season.
Kenzie MacMillan sparked a scoring surge for the Broncos in the first half when she lasered a shot from just outside the penalty box in the 27th minute. Less than a minute later, Boise State extended its lead when Carly Cross knocked in a cross from Morgan Stone. Moments later, MacMillan was denied on a shot from close range, but found the back of the net shortly after for her second goal of the match, with an assist from Cross to put the Broncos up 3-0 in a two-minute and 40-second time span.
The Fighting Hawks regained their footing at the beginning of the second half, scoring twice in the first five minutes. However, the Broncos held them off for the remainder of the match.
