Four Broncos Travel to ITA All-American Championships

Nicole Discenza, Pauline Ernstberger, Shauna Heffernan and Lorelyz Marruffo will travel to Cary, N.C., for the ITA All-American Championships.
  • UP NOW: Three Broncos will travel to Cary, N.C., for the ITA All-American Championships where they will compete in the Pre-Qualifying and Qualifying Draw, Sept. 30-Oct.1 and Oct. 2-3, respectively. 
  • WHO'S IN: In the Qualifying Draw, Pauline Ernstberger will compete in the singles portion of the tournament, while Nicole Discenza and Lorelyz Marruffo will compete as a pair in the doubles portion. All three will be competing for the second-consecutive year in the Qualifying Draw of this tournament. Ernstberger and Shauna Heffernan will also be participating in the Pre-Qualifying Doubles draw.
  • LAST TIME OUT: Ernstberger and Shauna Heffernan won the top flight in an all-Broncos championship at the Barb Chandler Classic, Sept. 22-24. Ernstberger and Heffernan swept the Montana State duo in the semifinals, before beating Discenza and Marruffo in the doubles portion of the Blue Draw championship. In the quarterfinals and semifinals, Discenza and Marruffo had a dominant stretch and defeated doubles pairs from Montana and Weber State 6-0.
  • AGAINST THE REGION: Boise State women's tennis is one of four teams in the Mountain region going to the Qualifying Draw of the tournament. Colorado, Utah and Wyoming will join the Broncos in the Qualifying Draw. In the Pre-Qualifying Draw, Colorado State will be the only other team from the region to accompany Boise State.

      • 24 regional representatives (2 per region)
      • 6 at-large selections (based on the ITA preseason national rankings)
      • 2 ITA wild cards
