
Broncos Open Spring Season at Home

- WHAT'S NEXT: Boise State opens its 2024 spring season with a pair of matches at home, beginning with a clash with Idaho State on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 5 p.m. MT. The Broncos then host Washington State on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 11 a.m. MT. All matches will take place at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center.
- SCOUTING THE BENGALS: Idaho State enters Thursday with a 1-1 record, defeating Utah State (Jan. 20), 5-2, before losing to Utah (Jan. 21), 7-0. The Broncos have been the victor in 19-straight meetings with the Bengals, including a 6-1 win last season (Jan. 28, 2023).
- SCOUTING THE COUGARS: Washington State opened its season against Eastern Washington (Jan. 20) and Idaho (Jan. 21), winning 7-0 and 5-2, respectively. The Cougars lead the all-time series against Boise State 16-7.
- SEASON-OPENER SUCCESS: Boise State is 12-1 in season-opening matches under head coach Beck Roghaar. Last year, the Broncos opened against Montana State (Jan. 27) and won 4-1.
- BUILDING OFF THE FALL: The Broncos competed in seven tournaments this past fall, winning 51.2% of their single matches (62-59) and 56.9% of their doubles matches (37-28). Together the team won four event titles, including a victory from Shauna Heffernan and Pauline Ernstberger in the top flight of the Barb Chandler Classic, Sept. 22-24.
- VETERAN GROUP: The Broncos return eight contributors from last season's squad, including Ernstberger, a three-time All-Mountain West singles selection, and all-conference doubles tandem Lorelyz Marruffo and Nicole Discenza.
