COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Boise State men's tennis team fell 4-0 at top-ranked Ohio State in the championship match of the ITA Kickoff Weekend Columbus Draw on Sunday. The loss was the first of the season and moved the Broncos to 3-1 overall.
The match began with the Buckeyes taking the doubles point 2-0 with wins on courts one and three, respectively, to claim the team point. The tandem of Jett Middleton and Idriss Haddouch took the 27th-ranked doubles team of Robert Cash and Bryce Nakashima to the wire before falling 6-4.
Once singles began, Ohio State claimed wins at the No. 5, 6, and 2 positions to claim the match. The Broncos' Jan Lucca Marquardt led Boise State, taking his opponent, 4th-ranked JJ Tracy, to a set one tiebreaker on court three before the match was abandoned.
