Broncos Earn Second Bid to National Pairs Championship
SPOKANE, Wash. – Boise State beach volleyball's Ava Anderson and Addison Wolden won the Spokane AVCA Pairs Tournament in a thrilling, three-set championship match, Sunday. The victory earned Boise State a second bid to the AVCA National Pairs Championship on Nov. 15-17 in Huntsville, Alabama.
The duo defeated Utah's Langley Griffin and Katie McAlister 21-18, 16-21, 16-14 in the championship contest. After finishing 2-1 in pool play on Saturday, the pair rattled off four-straight victories to claim the bid.
The rest of the Boise State squad also found success at the first competition of the fall season. Following a loss in the first round of the top bracket, Sharli O'Neil and Abbie Wolf won the consolation finals by defeating teammates Allyson Alden and Emilia Guerra-Acuña.
Avery Allen and Lily Patock were the standouts from the Open Division, finishing with an undefeated record of 6-0. Two Bronco pairs - Charlee Ellena and Elli Wolthuis and Anika Christensen and Charlee Ellena – finished the weekend 4-2.

- With the championship victory, Boise State will send two pairs to the AVCA National Pairs Championship for the first time in program history.Â
- Boise State finished with a winning record against three of the four teams that competed at the two-day event. The Broncos finished 12-3 against Corban, 9-5 versus Oregon and 7-4 against Utah.
