
Boise State Set for Home Clash with Air Force and Colorado College

- WHAT'S NEXT:Â The Broncos return home to host Air Force on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. MT and Colorado College on Sunday, Oct. 20 at noon MT. Both matches will be held at Boas Soccer Complex and broadcast on the MW Network.
 - SCOUTING THE FALCONS:Â Air Force enters Thursday's match with a 5-5-3 overall record with a 1-3-2 Mountain West record. Boise State leads the all-time series 8-5-2 and 4-1-1 in Boise.
 - SCOUTING THE TIGERS:Â Colorado College starts the week with a 5-7-3 overall record and 1-3-2 MW record. The Tigers will face Utah State (RV) on Thursday, Oct. 17, before traveling to Boise State on Sunday. The Broncos lead the all-time series 5-3-2 and are even (1-1-1) in Boise.
 - FRIENDLY COMPETITION:Â Boise State is one of two teams left in the MW without a loss in conference play, with Colorado State (4-0-2) on the list as well.
 - HERE COMES CROSS:Â Carly Cross leads the MW in shots (57), points (20), points per game (1.33), goals (8) and goals per game (0.53).
 - RECORD BROKEN, AGAIN:Â Genevieve Crenshaw is 17 minutes away from logging the most goalkeeper minutes in program history. The fifth-year will earn the honor in the match Thursday against Air Force.
 - SECOND HALF SQUAD:Â Out of the 29 goals the Broncos have scored this season, 23 of them have come in the final half. The Boise State defense has allowed only two goals in the final half.
 - HOME SWEET HOME:Â Boise State is the only team in the MW to win every home match this season, boasting a 7-0 record. The Broncos' seven-straight home wins ties for third-most consecutive home victories in program history.
 - HOME CROWD:Â The Broncos lead the MW in home attendance average at 1,165. Utah State is the next closest, averaging 807.
 - READY TO GO:Â Boise State has recorded its second-best start to conference play through six matches in school history after the match against Wyoming, boasting a 4-0-2 MW record. The 2018 team holds the program record with a 5-0-1 conference mark.
 - FRESHMAN MAGIC:Â Jillian Anderson was named MW Freshman of the Week (Oct. 7) after helping lead the Broncos to a 3-2 victory over New Mexico (Oct.3) and a 2-0 win over San Diego State (Oct. 6). Anderson posted two goals for four points against the Lobos with goals in the 71st and 88th minute. Her second goal was credited as the game-winner.
 - GK ASSIST:Â Genevieve Crenshaw recorded her second-career assist in the match against Fresno State, making her the first Boise State goalkeeper since Jennifer Burns (2007-09) to have multiple assists in her career.
 - STARTED OFF STRONG:Â Boise State tied its best start through seven matches in school history. The 2019 team, also coached by head coach Jim Thomas, won regular season and tournament titles in MW and the 2021 team made a MW Championship final appearance.
 - RECORD BROKEN:Â Crenshaw is now first in program history for goalkeeper wins (37). She passed Janelle Flores (2014-17) at 30 wins in the win over Utah Tech Thursday night (Sept. 12).
 - COMEBACK TEAM:Â In the match against Idaho (Sept. 8), the Broncos took a 3-1 victory after trailing 1-0 at half. This marked the third time under Coach Thomas that Boise State came back after trailing at halftime.
 - OFFENSIVE STUD:Â In the match against UC Riverside (Aug. 29), Avery McBride recorded her first-career goals (two), as well as her first-career assist. She was named MW Offensive Player of the Week following this performance.
 - HISTORIC SUCCESS:Â Boise State recorded nine goals over its first three matches, the most since 2019, which is also the last time Boise State won the conference championship.
 - SETTING THE STANDARD:Â The Broncos took 24 shots against Portland State, the most in a season opener since Jim Thomas took over as head coach in 2013.
 - ABOUT THE BRONCOS:Â Returning for the Broncos are 2023 All-Mountain West Second Team honorees Cross and Padour. 2023 MW All-Newcomer Team selection Cindy Conner also returns to the pitch for Boise State, as well as Crenshaw, who received 2023 All-Tournament Team distinctions.
 - PRESEASON PREDICTIONS:Â Boise State was picked to finish third in the Mountain West's preseason poll, tied with Colorado State with 99 points. San Diego State was selected to win the conference, receiving eight of 12 first-place votes and 117 points. Utah State came in second with 107 points, including two first-place votes. Colorado State received the final two first-place votes.
 - KEEP AN EYE OUT:Â Crenshaw, Cross and Padour were named to the 2024 Mountain West Women's Soccer Watch List. Crenshaw was one of two goalkeepers on the watch list with 36 total athletes.
 - BIG GOALS:Â After finishing the 2023 season with a 8-2-1 conference record and an 11-4-6 overall record, the Broncos look to return to the MW Championship in 2024 after making a semifinal appearance in the tournament last season.
