Broncos Set for Mountain West Championships

- The Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, N.M. This three-day meet will begin Thursday, Feb. 22, and finish on Saturday, Feb. 24.
- Last time out at the Husky Classic (Feb. 9-10), Ollie Newman became the third Bronco in program-history to run a sub-four minute mile. He placed fourth with a personal-best time of 3:59.79. Kaiya Robertson also improved her mile time, placing 18th in 4:39.77. She currently sits third in the program's all-time indoor list in the event.
- At the Don Kirby Invitational (Feb. 9-10), Janiah Brown placed second in the women's 800-meter with a time of 2:07.59. She trailed unattached Bronco alum MaLeigha Menegatti at each split. Menegatti, the 2023 Mountain West Indoor 800m Champion, won the race in 2:06.77, just 0.82 seconds ahead of Brown.
- Last time at the 2023 Mountain West Indoor Championships, Boise State took seventh as a team on the women's side. Anita Taviore placed second and fifth in the 60-meter and 200-meter, respectively, while Kaiya Robertson placed sixth in the mile. MaLeigha Menegatti won the women's 800-meter, while the distance medley relay team placed second.
- On the men's side at the 2023 championships, the team placed seventh overall. Ollie Newman placed eighth in the mile and Murdoch McIntyre earned sixth in the 5,000-meter. Josh Nichols placed sixth in the triple jump. The team ran a 4x400-meter team, as well as a distance medley relay team, placing sixth and fifth, respectively.
