WHAT'S NEXT: Boise State men's basketball opens play at the 2024 Mountain West Men's Basketball Championship, Thursday, March 14, at 9:30 p.m. MT, against New Mexico. The game will be broadcast by CBS Sports Network.
LAST TIME OUT: The Broncos rallied from down 10 at No. 21/19 San Diego State, March 8, to force overtime on a Roddie Anderson III basket in the final 10 seconds. Max Rice made a 3-pointer and Cam Martin's free throws with 1.7 seconds left led Boise State to a 79-77 victory in overtime for only the fourth victory at Viejas Arena in program history.
BUILDING A RESUME: Boise State enters this week's tournament as the No. 3 seed in a Mountain West that is expected to get at 5-6 teams into March Madness. Boise State's six Quad 1 wins are in the top 16 nationally entering the conference tournament.
10 YEARS: This is the first meeting against the Lobos in the Mountain West tournament since a three-point loss in the 2014 semifinal. Derrick Marks scored 20 points in that game as Cameron Baristow's baseline jumper with 42.2 seconds left pushed the New Mexico lead to seven and forced a battle of free throws the rest of the way.
SUCCESS AGAINST THE LOBOS: Boise State won both meetings against New Mexico this season. Max Rice and O'Mar Stanley averaged 25.5 and 18.0 points per game, respectively, in the previous two meetings as the Broncos swept the season series for only the fourth time since joining the Mountain West.
