BOISE, Idaho – Boise State beach volleyball secured a pair of 4-1 victories on the opening day of the Boise State Beach Classic, Friday.
The Broncos defeated UC Davis in the first match before ending the day with a win over Oregon. With 21 wins on the year, Boise State eclipsed the 20-win threshold for the third-straight season.Â

Boise State opened with a tight-match against UC Davis. After dropping the first set, Addison Wolden and Abbie Wolf came back on court four, winning 7-21, 21-16, 17-15 to put the Broncos (21-8) on the board. Ava Anderson and Emilia Guerra-Acuña added to the score with another three-set victory, winning 21-15, 18-21, 15-13 on court two.
Sharli O'Neil and Elli Wolthuis clinched the match with a straight-set victory on court five. Rorianna Chartier and Lily Patock scored a fourth point, winning as the No. 3 pair 17-21, 21-18, 15-11. The Aggies (13-11) prevented the sweep with a three-set win from the top court.
Wolden and Wolf continued their hot streak against the Ducks (2-13), making quick work on the No. 4 court to give the Broncos a 1-0 advantage. Anderson and Guerra-Acuña won two closely-contested sets, 21-19, 21-19, to give Boise State a 2-0 edge. Emily Garus and Summer McCann earned the clinching point on court five with a straight-set victory.
Oregon picked up a win on court three to put itself on the scoreboard. After dropping the first set, Marlayna Bullington and Sierra Land gave the Broncos their fourth point with a 16-21, 21-18, 15-10 win on court one.Â

What's Next
Boise State will be back in action with rematches against both opponents on Saturday. The Broncos will open the day at 11 a.m. MT with a dual against Oregon, followed by a 3 p.m. MT bout with UC Davis. Boise State will honor its six seniors following the dual against UC Davis. Both matches will be streamed on the MW Network.
