Boise Sate beach volleyball will make the trip to Hawaii for the Queen's Cup. The Broncos (7-3) will start the three-day event Thursday, March 7, with two duals against Saint Mary's and No. 12 Hawaii before facing Pepperdine and Chaminade on Friday. The event will conclude on Saturday with bracket play.SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
The Broncos will be facing a team that is ranked in the AVCA Collegiate Beach Rankings for the third-consecutive weekend in No. 12 Hawaii. The Rainbow Warriors are 0-5 currently on the season, with all five losses coming against teams ranked in the top six. The weekend will also feature a rematch against Pepperdine, who Boise State defeated 4-1 last weekend.LAST TIME OUT
Boise State went 3-1 on the weekend at the Pepperdine Classic in Malibu, Calif. The Broncos defeated Pepperdine, Vanguard and San Francisco and suffered a loss to No. 20 Arizona, 3-2. With a 7-3 record on the season, Boise State matched its best start in program history.CONFERENCE RECOGNITION
Marlayna Bullington and Sierra Land were recognized as the Southland Conference Pair of the Week on Tuesday. The duo finished 4-0 in straight-sets on the top court at the Pepperdine Classic, including a 21-19, 21-10 victory over Grace Cook and Hope Shannon of No. 20 Arizona. The Broncos have taken home the award four times in their program history, with Land picking up the honor three times in her career.100 CLUB
Rorianna Chartier and Land both became the first Broncos in program history to play in 100 career matches at the Pepperdine Classic. Land enters the weekend with 101 career matches while Chartier sits at 100. Chartier leads the program with 56 career wins, while Land sits at third place with 51.RECEIVING VOTES
The Broncos are receiving two votes in the latest iteration of the AVCA Collegiate Beach Poll, and would be the 24th ranked team if the rankings were extended out. Defending SLC champion Texas A&M-Corpus Christi sits ahead of the Broncos in the poll with nine votes.
