BOISE, Idaho – Boise State women's soccer defeated Portland State 2-1 in the season opener for both schools, Friday night.

The Broncos were the first on the scoreboard as Morgan Padour buried a shot just under the crossbar from 20 yards out in the seventh minute. Avery McBride was credited with a first-career assist.

Boise State extended its lead to 2-0 when Kayla Soderstrom passed to Desiree Foster, who took a touch and found the back of the net from 25 yards in the 36th minute for her first goal as a Bronco.

In the 56th minute, Aliayha Saldana scored for the Vikings.
