Boise State Set for Split Weekend

WHAT'S NEXT: The Boise State men's tennis team will split to compete in the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic from Oct. 3-5 in San Diego, California, and the Mountain West Fall Qualifiers from Oct. 3-6 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

REPRESENTING BOISE STATE: Eight Broncos will compete for the Blue and Orange this weekend. In San Diego, Adam Duda, Taiyo Kurata, Julius Seifert and Lukas Velik will take the courts. At the Mountain West Fall Qualifiers, Stewart Aronson, Carson Baker, Filip Soderqvist, and Avery Tallakson will play.

NEED TO KNOW, MW QUALIFIERS: The four Broncos in the tournament will compete in both singles and doubles against opponents from other MW schools. The singles and doubles champions will earn qualifications to the ITA Conference Masters in San Diego in November. In the inaugural 2024 tournament, Baker led the Broncos, advancing to the quarterfinals in singles.

NEED TO KNOW, SAN DIEGO: Each Bronco will compete in three singles and three doubles matches over the three days of competition. Boise State will face players from Washington on Friday, San Diego on Saturday, and UC Irvine on Sunday.

LAST TIME OUT: In the opening week of fall action, Boise State was represented at three different tournaments. At the Dar Walters Classic, Carson Baker, Adam Duda, Lukas Velik and Michael Seversen combined for an 11-5 singles record, with Duda and Seversen winning the Orange Draw consolation title. In Montgomery, Alabama, Taiyo Kurata led the Blue and Orange at the Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic with a 3-0 singles record. At the Battle in the Bay Classic, both Filip Soderqvist and Avery Tallakson recorded two singles wins, highlighted by Soderqvist's victory over TCU's 88th-ranked Roger Pascual Ferra.
