BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State women's tennis team improved to 7-0 for the first time since the 1991-92 season, following a 7-0 sweep over Eastern Washington.

Maya Dutta and Zdena Safarova were clicking early, defeating Eastern Washington's (1-5) Isabella Foshee and Kenzington Mann 6-1 in just 21 minutes. The Broncos secured the doubles point 13 minutes later when Ryan Kershner and Lorelyz Marruffo beat Anait Arutiunian and Leandra Nizetic, 6-3.

Dutta, a two-time Mountain West Freshman of the Week, continued her season dominance, securing the first singles win for Boise State with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Arutiunian. Paula Schaefer, Masa Viriant and Ariadna Briones Ginesta each won their singles matches, defeating their opponents 6-4, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2, and 6-0, 7-5, respectively.

Bhakti Shah and Safarova clinched the 7-0 victory, each winning their matches in 10-point tiebreakers, marking Boise State's seventh consecutive sweep.

"This was a scrappy match today and there were definitely some challenges that we overcame," said head coach Beck Roghaar. "At the end of the day, finding a way to win is really important, and that's a skill we work a lot on."

Notables:

Boise State is 7-0 for the first time since the 1991-92 season and the third time in school history.
