ST. GEORGE, Utah – Brooklynn Pettis homered twice and drove in a career-high seven runs as Boise State routed host Utah Tech 16-6 in five innings at the Lyman Classic, Thursday.

Pettis belted a homer with two runners aboard in each of the first two innings as Boise State (8-3) jumped out to an 8-0 lead. She added a run-scoring single in a four-run fourth to finish 3-for-3.

"We found a lot of barrels today," head coach Justin Shults said. "I am proud of the way we prepared and were ready to attack offensively from the first inning on."

Makenzie Butt and Megan Lake each knocked in a run with a single in the third. Sydney Groves started the rally in the fourth with a pinch hit home run.

Mykenzie Hanna doubled home a run in the fifth and Ashley Hernandez completed the Broncos' scoring with an RBI-single.

Abby Dowell (2-1) gave up one run in five innings to earn the victory.

Boise State will face San Diego at noon, Friday.

*Sophia Knight, the national leader in hits, was 4-for-5 for her 11th-straight, multi-hit game to start the season.
*Knight set a career high and tied the Boise State single-game record with four runs.
*Mykenzie Hanna drove in three runs to raise her career-RBI total to 110, seventh all-time at Boise State.
