BANDON, Ore. – Gavyn Knight placed third at the Bandon Dunes Collegiate and Boise State men's golf tied for second behind nationally-ranked Oregon, Tuesday.
Â
Knight shot 3-under (71-69-70—210), including an eagle on the par 5, 16th-hole in the final round. It was Knight's third top-five and fourth top-10 finish of the season.
Â
Cole Rueck tied for eight at 6-over (72-72-75—219) to record his fourth top 10 of the 2024-25 campaign. He registered a double-eagle on the 567-yard par 5, No. 9 in round one. Reese Knox carded the first top-25 finish of his career with a tie for 15th at 9-over (76-73-73--222).
"I am very proud of our effort this week," head coach David Trainor said. "Anyone who has played Brandon Trails knows what a demanding test of golf it is. Our guys battled all three days and, while we didn't walk away with the trophy, we have a lot to be proud of. Congrats to Gavyn Knight, Cole Rueck and Reese Knox."
Â
The Broncos finished ahead of Mountain West rivals San Jose State and Air Force, as well Boston College from the ACC and host Idaho.
Â
Boise State has a week off before traveling to Goleta, California for the UC Santa Barbara Gaucho Intercollegiate, April 7-8.
