Cole Rueck Aims to be First Player in MW History to Win Consecutive Individual Titles

WHAT'S NEXT: Seeking its first conference tournament title in program history, Boise State men's golf will compete in the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Men's Golf Championship. Located at Emerald Valley Golf Course (Creswell, Ore.), the three-day, 54-hole event begins tomorrow, April 25, and runs through Sunday, April 27.

EMERALD VALLEY GC/OREGON: Emerald Valley is hosting the MW Men's Golf Championship for the second straight season. The event has been held in Oregon seven times, previously taking place at the Crosswater Club (Sunriver, Ore.) from 2001-06.

TEE TIMES: With all 11 Mountain West institutions competing, teams will play 18 holes each day. On Day 1, Boise State will be paired with Fresno State and will tee off between 9:30-10:02 a.m. PT. For rounds two and three, team groups will be set by result.

LIVE SCORING: Live scoring, tournament history and more can be found on the Mountain West Tournament Central Page, found HERE. The link will be updated daily with tee times, results and recaps.

THE CHAMP IS HERE: Boise State junior Cole Rueck is the defending Mountain West individual champion. Rueck, who shot a 209 (-7) to win the 2024 tournament, is seeking to become the first two-time winner in MW history.

RUECK'S WIN IN CONTEXT: Reuck is just the fifth golfer in program history to win a conference championship. He joins Danny Moore (1984, Big Sky), Danny Deiro (1995, Big Sky), Troy Merritt (2008, WAC) and Brian Humphreys (2017, Mountain West) to accomplish the feat.

2024 MOUNTAIN WEST CHAMPIONSHIP: Last year, the Broncos, collectively, finished the 2024 Mountain West Championship in ninth place. The team shot an 872 (+8) and were ahead of only Utah State and Air Force.

COMIN' IN HOT: Entering the 2025 Mountain West Championship, Boise State has won each of its last two tournaments. The Blue and Orange won the UC Santa Barbara Gaucho Intercollegiate (841, -23) and the Second Annual Battle of Idaho (844, -8) against the University of Idaho.

THE LINEUP: Cole Rueck, Luke Cushman, Gavyn Knight, Ryan Meyer and Reese Knox. Seth Jones will serve as the team's substitute.

COMPETING TEAMS: Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Nevada, New Mexico, San Diego State, San Jose State, UNLV, Utah State and Wyoming.
