GREENWOOD, Ind. – Boise State junior Taiyo Kurata has been named to the College Sports Communicator's (CSC) Academic All-District Team as announced by the organization's headquarters Tuesday morning.
The junior transfer from the University of Idaho has been an academic standout throughout his college career. During his two years with the Vandals, he was a two-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Big Sky honoree.
In his first two semesters at Boise State, he was named to the Dean's List twice. Mountain West honors will be announced later this summer.
This past season as a Bronco, Kurata recorded an overall singles record of 12-10 and a doubles mark of 20-14. This past spring, the native of Hiroshima, Japan, played a key role in the doubles lineup during team duals, going 12-6 overall and earning Mountain West Championship All-Tournament Team honors in doubles.Â
