
Broncos Claim Two Individual Titles at MW Outdoor Championships

CLOVIS, Calif. – Landon Helms was crowned champion in the men's decathlon and Kaiya Robertson claimed the top spot in the women's 1,500-meter as the Boise State track and field team concluded competition at the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championships.

Helms, the 2025 MW Indoor Heptathlon Champion, added a second multis title to his resume with a winning decathlon score of 7673 points. He became the sixth Bronco to win an outdoor decathlon title and the first since 2012. His score ranks third in both MW and Boise State history. Overall, he set five personal bests across his 10 events.

Robertson, who entered the meet with the top 1,500m time in the conference, pulled away from New Mexico's Marion Jepngetich in the final 100 meters to win in 4:19.83. An hour and 20 minutes later, she returned to the track and secured a second podium finish, placing second in the women's 800-meter.
The Broncos also earned podium finishes in the men's 5,000-meter, 1,500m and 4x400-meter relay. Meshack Kuyo took bronze in the 5,000m with a time of 13:41.40, the third fastest in program history. Tom Graham-Marr finished third in the 1,500m, clocking a 3:43.11, and the team of Trevor Cogley, John Dailey, Josh Green, and DJ Warren placed third in the 4x400m relay.
Two more Broncos recorded top-five marks in program history during the three-day event. In the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase, Hanna Ackermann ran the third-fastest time in school history (9:59.06), and Abby Kendrick followed with the fourth fastest (10:02.65).

- Hanna Ackermann ran the third-fastest (9:59.06) 3,000m steeplechase time, while Abby Kendrick ran the fourth fastest (10:02.65) in program history.
- Meshack Kuyo's time of 13:41.40 in the men's 5,000m was the third-fastest in Boise State history.
- Kaiya Robertson's 800m time of 2:04.31 ranks fourth in program history.
- Boise State had six podium finishes.
What's Next
- The top 48 declared student-athletes and top 24 declared relay teams will be accepted into the first round of NCAA competition May 28-May 31 in College Station, Texas. Athletes accepted into the first rounds will be announced on Thursday, May 22. The top 24 multi athletes will also automatically be accepted into the NCAA Championships June 11-14 in Eugene, Oregon. The qualifying window closes for conference championship meets on Monday, May 19.
