BOISE, Idaho – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the winners of the 2024-25 ITA Academic Scholar-Athlete Awards Monday from the organization's headquarters in Tempe, Arizona. Among the recipients were three Broncos: Taiyo Kurata, Adam Duda and Dylan Jaen.
All three recorded GPAs of 3.5 or better for the past year (fall and spring semesters) to earn this accolade.
This marks the third time in Kurata's career to have been named an ITA Scholar-Athlete. In addition to this year's award, the junior transfer student earned the honor twice while at the University of Idaho in 2023 and 2024.Â
Duda was a true freshman this past year; this award represents the first in his career. Meanwhile, Jaen, who has left the program, was also a freshman.
This year's three honorees bring the program's total of ITA Scholar-Athlete Awards to 10 during the first three years of coach Luke Shield's tenure.Â
