Boise State to Compete at ITA Kickoff Weekend

WHAT'S NEXT
Boise State men's tennis will compete in the ITA Kickoff Weekend, hosted by TCU in Fort Worth, Texas. The Broncos will first face Georgia on Jan. 23 at 10 a.m. MT, and then either No. 5 TCU or UT Arlington next. The championship and consolation match are to be determined due to a winter storm expected to hit Texas.

WHAT'S AT STAKE
With two consecutive wins, the Broncos can qualify for the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Dallas or Waco, Texas, Feb. 13-17.

HISTORY
Boise State is competing in the ITA Kickoff Weekend for the third-consecutive season, 11th all-time. The Broncos have only recorded wins in the first round twice, once in 2016 in a 4-3 victory over San Francisco and another in 2024 in a 4-3 win over Oregon.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Georgia opened its spring season on Jan. 17 with a dominant 4-0 victory over Georgia Tech. The matchup marks the first meeting between the Broncos and Bulldogs in program history. Boise State enters the contest with a 9-27 record against SEC opponents. Georgia is an eight-time national champion.

SCOUTING THE HORNED FROGS
TCU enters the tournament with a 2-1 record, with its lone loss coming against No. 5 Virginia, 6-1. Boise State holds a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series, having won the past two meetings in 2012. The Broncos defeated TCU 5-2 during the regular season on April 13, then followed up with a 4-0 victory in the Mountain West Championship on April 28. TCU is a three-time national champion, most recently claiming the title in 2024, and is currently ranked fifth-nationally after remaining in the top five for the past four years.

UT Arlington enters the tournament with an 0-1 record, losing 7-0 to Texas A&M on Jan. 17. Boise State holds a 3-0 advantage in the all-time series. The most recent meeting came on March 30, 2007 when the Broncos defeated the Mavericks 7-0.

Boise State has won five regular season conference titles all-time. The Broncos' first year as a member of a conference that played a regular season round robin was 2009 when they were members of the Western Athletic Conference. They went on to win that first WAC title and have since followed with three in the MW (2012, 2014, 2024 and 2025).
