SAN DIEGO – Boise State dropped a pair of games in the UCSD-USD Co-Host Tournament, Saturday.

The Broncos (6-4) lost 8-7 to Southern Utah and were defeated 2-0 by Omaha.

Boise State collected 15 hits against the Thunderbirds and led three times, but lost when Southern Utah pushed across a run in the seventh.

Kate Penberthy led off the bottom of the first with her third home run of the season to give the Broncos an early lead.

Mya Flindt led off the third with her third home run of the year to tie the game 2-2. Marissa Gonzalez added an RBI-single in the inning for a 3-2 lead.

The Broncos trailed 4-3 before scoring three times in the fourth. Quinn Southerland doubled in the tying run, stole third and scored on a throwing error. Gonzalez capped the rally with a sacrifice fly.

Boise State fell behind 7-6 before Sophia Romero's RBI-single in the sixth tied the game again.

Against the Mavericks, the Broncos were held to five hits and left six runners on base. Omaha tallied a run in both the second and fourth innings.

NOTES

Skylar Stroh was 5-for-7 with a run.
Quinn Southerland was 5-for-8 with two doubles, an RBI and two stolen bases.
Loula-Rae McNamara pitched in both games and leads the nation with nine appearances this season.
