Boise State Gets Back in the Win Column

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Skylar Stroh recorded a double, home run and career-high five RBI to lead Boise State to an 8-2 victory over Santa Clara at the DeMarini Invitational, Friday.
 
The home run was the second-career for the junior second baseman. It came with two runners aboard in the seventh and put the game out of reach.
 
Boise State (7-6) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-out, RBI-single by Marissa Gonzalez and a run-scoring double by Stroh.
 
Kaylee Vieira extended the lead to 3-0 with an RBI-single in the fourth. Boise State picked up a couple of unearned runs in the fifth on an RBI-double by Mya Flindt and a run-scoring fielder's choice off the bat of Stroh.
 
Santa Clara (6-6) finally broke through for two runs in the sixth off Boise State starter Charley Duran (3-1), but Loula-Rae McNamara came out of the bullpen to register a five-out save.
 
NOTES
  • Boise State defeated a fourth team this season that was in the 2025 NCAA Softball Championship (Mississippi, Cal State Fullerton, Weber State).
  • Skylar Stroh collected a career-high five RBI and leads the team with 14 this season.
  • Charley Duran struck out a season/career-high six.
  • Loula-Rae McNamara recorded the final five outs for her first-career save.

  • Boise State plays No. 2 Texas at noon PT/1 p.m. MT and No. 10 Stanford at 2:30 p.m. PT/3:30 p.m. MT, Saturday…both games are scheduled at Stanford.
