Boise State Set to Host Four Matches

No. 61 Boise State men's tennis will host four matches March 13-14 at Appleton Tennis Center. The Broncos open the weekend Friday against No. 72 Cal Poly at 10 a.m. MT, followed by a matchup with Montana State at 6 p.m. MT. Boise State returns to the court Saturday to face No. 38 Santa Clara at 10 a.m. MT before closing the weekend against DePaul at 6 p.m. MT.

SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS
No. 72 Cal Poly enters the matchup with an 8-4 overall record. The Mustangs are still seeking their first road victory after dropping their first three away matches. Cal Poly is 2-1 against Mountain West opponents this season, earning 6-1 wins over New Mexico on Feb. 2 and Nevada on Feb. 6. Boise State has won the last three meetings and leads the all-time series over Cal Poly, 9-3.

Santa Clara is undefeated against Mountain West opponents this season, earning a 6-1 win over New Mexico on Feb. 21 and a 4-2 victory over UNLV on Feb. 22. Boise State leads the all-time series 11-6 and has won the last three meetings.

Seven Broncos are approaching the 20-win mark in singles this season. Taiyo Kurata and Filip Soderqvist each need two more victories, while Stewart Aronson, Julius Seifert, Avery Tallakson and Lukas Velik are three wins away. The Broncos' first year as a member of a conference that played a regular season round robin was 2009 when they were members of the Western Athletic Conference. They went on to win that first WAC title and have since followed with three in the MW (2012, 2014, 2024 and 2025).
