Men's Tennis Picks Up Two Victories

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State men's tennis extended its win streak to six with victories over No. 72 Cal Poly and Montana State, Friday.

The Broncos first defeated the Mustangs 4-1, before earning a 4-0 victory over the Bobcats.

#72 Cal Poly
No. 61 Boise State (13-5) opened strong against No. 72 Cal Poly (8-5), securing the doubles point to take early control of the match. Stewart Aronson and Filip Soderqvist dominated on court two, blanking John Cross and Sean Kamyshev 6-0. Carson Baker and Avery Tallakson followed with a 6-4 victory over Jovan Lubbe and Leo Matthysen on court one to clinch the doubles point for the Broncos.

Soderqvist then delivered the first singles win of the day for Boise State, defeating Cross 6-3, 6-4 on court three. Cal Poly answered with its first point when Aaron Eliscu edged Idriss Haddouch 7-5, 7-5 on court six. Lukas Velik extended the Broncos' lead with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Kamyshev on court five. Baker sealed the 4-1 win for Boise State, defeating Raz Haviv 6-2, 6-4 on court three.

Boise State (14-5) once again jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after securing the doubles point against Montana State (4-8). Julius Seifert and Taiyo Kurata opened doubles play with a 6-2 win over Elijah Calaquian and David Ismanescu on court three. Carson Baker and Avery Tallakson followed with a 6-2 victory against Yassin Elaroussy and Andre Stewart on court one to clinch the doubles point.

In singles play, Ismanescu retired during the first set against Kurata on court three, extending the Broncos' lead to 2–0. Seifert quickly added another point on court four, delivering a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win over Camille Chantron. Sophomore Adam Duda sealed the sweep for Boise State with a 6-0, 6-3 victory against Calaquian on court six.
