Broncos Prepared for Big 12 Beach Volleyball Championship

WHAT'S NEXT: Boise State beach volleyball will head to Tucson, Arizona for the 2026 Big 12 Beach Volleyball Championship presented by Allstate. The two-day event will begin Thursday, April 23, with all duals being streamed on ESPN+.

THE FORMAT: The six teams will be split into two pools, with Thursday consisting solely of pool play. Based on the pool play results, all six teams will be sorted into a single-elimination bracket that will take place on Friday.

THE PATH: Boise State was awarded a No. 5 seed and will face off against top-seeded Florida State at 10 a.m. MT and No. 4 South Carolina at 12:30 p.m. MT on Thursday. The seeding was voted on by the head coaches.

THE SCOUT: The Broncos (19-13) split their two duals against the Gamecocks (21-8), falling at the Carolina Challenge on March 13 before getting revenge in Big 12 play on March 28. Boise State lost both attempts against Florida State.

THE LINEUP: The lineup that Boise State will utilize for the championship is below:

THE RANKING: Boise State earned a No. 18 ranking in the AVCA Collegiate Beach Poll that was released on Tuesday, the highest in program history. The ranking marks the third week this season the squad has been represented in the poll, a feat the program hadn't achieved until this year. All six Big 12 programs earned a spot in the ranking.

THE WEEKEND RECAP: The Blue and Orange finished 4-0 at the Alki Invitational last weekend, including wins over No. 19 Washington and No. 15 Florida Atlantic. The ranked victories moved the Broncos to four on the year, the most in a single season in program history.

THE LOOK AHEAD: Entering the Big 12 Championship, the Broncos find themselves on the bubble for an at-large bid to the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship. The 16-team field consists of eight automatic qualifiers and eight at-large teams. The Big 12 champion does not earn an automatic qualifier to the field.

THE RECORD BREAKER: Ava Anderson enters the weekend with 84 career victories, tied with Emilia Guerra-Acuna for the most in program history. The senior will play at the No. 2 position this weekend and has a team-high 23-9 mark on the season.

THE BLOCK PARTY: Alden launched a 'Block Party' fundraiser on Feb. 11 for every ace and/or block the sixth-year senior records on the season. The campaign asks donors to pledge a certain dollar amount for every ace or block that Alden records during the 2026 campaign, with all donations going towards BroncoBOLD. So far this season, Alden has recorded 67 aces and 71 blocks. Those interested in joining can sign up here.
