Freshman wins triple jump in debut, Ralfa goes wire-to-wire

NAMPA, Idaho -- The Boise State track and field team picked up two event titles, Saturday at the Bronco Invitational. Abi Dargan won the women's triple jump, while Andrew Rafla won the men's mile.

Dargan made her first week on campus memorable, as the mid-year signee easily won the women's triple jump in her first collegiate competition. Dargan lept 39-0.5 (11.90m) to win the event by 9.25 inches.

That mark would rank her third in the Mountain West entering the weekend.

Andrew Rafla led from wire-to-wire to win the men's mile in 4:12.20. Rafla was followed by teammates Israel Anaya Carmona (4:21.34) and Riley Campbell (4:21.66) in fifth and sixth, respectively. Both times were personal bests.

The Broncos picked up another four top three finishes on the day. Freshmen MaLeigha Menegatti and Kelly Moodry went 2-3 in the women's 400m, running 57.33 and 57.80, respectively. Jose Rubio was third in the men's 400m, winning his heat in a season best 50.36.
