Miler Haller Earns All-American Honors at NCAA Nationals

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Boise State women's and men's cross country teams finished 17th and 21st, respectively at the NCAA National Championships, Saturday.
 
Senior Miler Haller led the way for both squads with a team-best 30th-place finish to earn All-America honors on the men's side.
 
"Today's performance was not what we were looking for, but we fought hard at battled through the conditions," said head coach Corey Ihmels. "We will head home and evaluate what we can do to improve and perform better next year."
 
Haller secured his second-career All-American award, running a time of 31:12.9 on the 10k course. He closed his Boise State cross country career as a three-time All-West Region award winner, a two All-Mountain West honoree, and a two-time All-MW Second Team honoree.
 
"I'm really proud of Miler for what he has accomplished at Boise State, he ran great for us today and earned another All-American," said head coach Corey Ihmels.
 
Joining Haller in the scoring five for the Broncos are Ahmed Muhumed (65th - 31:36.4), Elijah Armstrong (168th - 32:33.2), Henry Mong (169th - 32:33.5) and Jonathan Shields (202nd - 33:03.0).
 
On the women's side, sophomore Yukino Parle concluded a breakout season with an 83rd-place effort in a time of 21:09.1 on the 6k course. She paced the Broncos in four of their races this season. She earned All-Mountain West and All-West Region honors for the first time in her career. 
 
Rounding out the scoring five for the women are Maxine Paholek (124th - 21:24.9), Grace Brock (127th - 21:26.9), Olivia Johnson (128th - 21:27.3) and Lara Hamilton (162th - 21:43.2). 
 
Boise State now prepares to transition to the indoor track and field season which begins Dec. 7, at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston, Mass.
