BRONCOS OPEN HOMESTAND AGAINST WHITMAN

The Bronco men's tennis team opens a seven-game homestand this weekend on Saturday, Feb. 16, against Whitman College. The Blues are heading into this game at 0-2 after they were defeated by Montana 6-1, and Montana State 7-0.

The last time the teams faced off was in January 2018, where the Broncos defeated Whitman 5-2. Saturday's match will begin at 10 a.m. at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center.

LAST TIME OUT

Boise State is looking to kick off this long home stand strong after playing two games out of state last weekend. The Broncos faced a tough loss against Oregon at 4-0, after the Ducks took the lead early on after winning the doubles point 2-0 and sweeping all singles matches. The Blue and Orange made a comeback on Saturday defeating Portland State with Wyatt DeMulling's singles win on court five clinching a 4-3 victory.

STANDOUTS

Wyatt DeMulling shined last Saturday after completing a streak of four-consecutive singles victories by the Broncos against the Vikings. DeMulling won a tiebreaker in set one and then defeated Nikola Dimitrijevic 7-6(1), 6-3. This moved the junior to 4-1 in spring duals and 13-8 in singles this year.

AS A TEAM

The Broncos currently have an overall record of 4-2, with a 75-43 mark in singles (.636) on the year and 23-10 (.697) singles record in dual matches.

HEAD COACH KRISTIAN WIDEN

Boise State graduate and former all-conference performer for the Broncos, Kristian Widen is entering his first season as head coach for the Broncos. Widen continues to build a strong, hard-working team and program. Widen's coaching record now stands at 4-2.
