Broncos Open Season Sweeping Individuals at Sagebrush

LOGAN, Utah - The Boise State cross country team opened its 2019 campaign at the Sagebrush Invitational, Saturday. Bronco runners Henry Mong and Yukino Parle set the pace for both fields and took home the individual titles, while both Boise State squads took second in the team totals.

Running with Parle, who finished with a time of 18:24.9, was Sailor Hutton who crossed the line fourth at 18:49.7. Christina Giesler rounded out the top-10 for the Broncos in sixth place, followed by Malia Pivec (19:33.1) and Justine Stecko (19:40.4) finishing 11th and 12th.

For the men, joining Mong in the top-five was senior Logan Rees who finished fifth with a 21:56.2. The rest of the Broncos were Israel Anaya-Carmona (22:37) at 10th, Jacob Grinwis (22:47) in 11th, AJ Chopra (23:10.6) and Cade Greseth (24:44.5) finished 12th and 13th respectively.
 
Boise State will take nearly a month off before returning to action at the Bill Dellinger Invitational in Springfield, Ore., Sept. 28.
