The Broncos get their third straight win after defeating Idaho State 7-0

EAGLE, Idaho (1/26/2020) - Boise State's men's tennis team stormed past instate-rival Idaho State 7-0 Sunday afternoon to win its third-consecutive match of the season. Simon Arca Costas clinched the team victory for the Blue and Orange with his straight-set win at No. 3 singles.

The win improved Boise State to 3-1 on the year with a second match on Sunday versus Whitman College on the slate for 4 p.m. at the Eagle Tennis Center.

Doubles went 2-1 in favor of the home team Sunday with the Broncos striking the first victory with a 6-3 win on court one by Michael Bott and Mark Papadopoulos over ISU's Fynn Lohse and Lukas Ridemar. The Boise State duo is now 3-1 on the year.

The Bengals tied doubles up at one win each when Kyler Hartman and Yohann Prinsen over powered Boise State's Kyryll Kryvchun and Wyatt DeMulling 6-2.

No. 2 doubles went to the Broncos when Arca Costas and Blake Bayldon downed the Bengals' Patrik Trhac and Gary Rendek 6-3. The 50th-ranked Boise State pair moved to 9-1 on the year with the victory.

In singles action the Broncos were led by Bayldon as he cruised to victory over ISU's Hartman 6-1, 6-1. The win puts his overall record at 11-6 on the season.

Kryvchun and DeMulling who hold the two best records on the team continue to roll. Kryvchun won his match on court one over Fynn Lohse 7-5, 6-4 moving him to a team best 17-5 overall, while DeMulling handled his match at No. 3 easily 6-2, 6-2. The senior moved to 11-4 on the year.

Arca Costas also saw success today defeating Patrik Trhac 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 2 position. The new Broncos, Papadopoulos and Bott continue to keep finding success as they both won their matches versus Idaho State. Papadopoulos defeated Yohann Prinsen 6-3, 6-1 on court five, while Bott record his victory over Boldi Rethi 6-0, 6-2 on court six.
