WHAT IS HAPPENING
  • Boise State's men's tennis team will be in Spokane, Wash., this weekend for two matches against Montana on Saturday and Gonzaga on Sunday.
  • The Broncos as a program are 22-0 all-time against Montana and 6-1 all-time versus Gonzaga. 
  • The Blue and Orange enter this weekend's contests riding a four-game win streak.
LAST TIME OUT
  • Two weekends ago (Jan. 24-26) the Broncos hosted a homestand of games against Montana State, Seattle, Idaho State and Whitman sweeping (7-0) all matches and going 4-0 on the weekend.
  • Boise State's 50th-ranked doubles duo of Blake Bayldon and Simon Arca Costas rolled through each match finishing 4-0.
  • Ending the weekend against Whitman was an exciting match on court six where Boise State newcomer Michael Bott came back from 4-0 down in a 10-point third set tiebreaker to defeat Jacob Strabo. Bott won the match 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7).
WHO TO WATCH IN SINGLES
  • Kyryll Kryvchun, last time out played position number one for the Broncos and owns the best record on the team at 18-5.
  • Senior Wyatt DeMulling enters this weekend's contests with an 12-4 overall record, followed closely by Bayldon who holds an 12-6 overall record.
WHO TO WATCH IN DOUBLES
  • The Broncos number one position will be held by the 50th-ranked pair of Bayldon and Arca Costas. The duo's overall record sits at 10-1 on the year.
  • The Broncos new tandem of Mark Papadopoulos and Bott had an impressive weekend (Jan. 24-26) as the duo went 4-0 in front of the home crowd for the first time.
COACH WIDEN
  • Kristian Widen is in his second year as head coach of his alma mater. The former Bronco tennis player and 1996 Boise State graduate was named head men's tennis coach on May 17, 2018.
  • He begins his second season with an 15-11 overall record.
  • He has been a part of seven conference championships at Boise State, three as a player and four as an assistant.
  • Widen has more than 20 years of coaching experience at various levels, including time previously spent on staff at Boise State with both the men's and women's programs.
